This is a light form of editing that provides a final polish. Copyediting focuses on fixing any mechanical errors such as your grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Copyediting is the type of edit that is usually done when a manuscript is in its final stages. The reason for this is that a copyedit mainly addresses grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, consistency, numerals, fonts, capitalization, and the overall accuracy and quality of a manuscript. Therefore, as your editor, it is my job to make sure your manuscript is free of technical problems and/or major loose ends that'll confuse readers.
The Process:
As I read the manuscript in its entirety, I'll check and make revsions for typographical and spelling mistakes, correction of grammatical and linguistic errors, along with incorrect use of punctuations in tracked changes. In addition, I will provide you with in-line comments on areas with consistency issues that leave loose ends/gaps in your story.
Once done, I send you the manuscript with my in-line tracked edits and comments back. As you go over it, you will be able to accept or reject my edits and read my in-line comments. You then make an appointment to have a review session with me via your chosen method of communication (email, phone, zoom). During this review session, we go over the in-line comments and some of the in-line edits together. In addition, I'll answer any questions you may have.
