Proofread
This is the final read-through, catching any overlooked typos: missing punctuation/commas, uncapitalized names, words out of place, etc. Basically, it serves as another copyediting pass, just less intense than an actual copyedit.

Proofreading is the vital last step in the book editing process before it goes to print and gets published. It is not to be confused with a structural edit, rather, proofreading instead focuses on eliminating any remaining minor mistakes and inconsistencies.
The Process:
As I read the manuscript in its entirety, I'll check and make minor corrections of misspellings, punctuation, capitalization, verb tense, and grammar use in tracked changes.
Once done, I send you the manuscript with my in-line tracked edits back. As you go over it, you will be able to accept or reject my edits and read my in-line comments. You then make an appointment to have a review session with me via your chosen method of communication (email, phone, zoom). During this review session, we go over the edits and any questions you may have for me.
